A couple of weeks ago, I received a phone call from the brand new Black Oak Casino Resort Hotel…would I be interested in photographing their brand new wedding venue complete with models, and set-ups by local wedding vendors? Absolutely! My awesome assistant, Gretchen, and I had an incredible day that was about as long as an actual wedding, but I don’t think we worked half as hard that day as the other vendors did. Sierra Bridal provided two gorgeous dresses for our model to wear, and a friend provided a third. Save the Date Events set up three different table styles and three different ceremony sites. There was a shabby chic theme, an elegant Gatsby style theme, and a whimsical brightly colored butterfly and bird theme. Everything they did was beautiful and had great attention to detail. In the enormous gazebo outside, they hung a huge load of manzanita branches dripping with crystals, and I know that took some wrangling to secure that to the top of the gazebo! Sound Extreme came to display some up-lighting and a monogrammed dance floor complete with clouds. Mountain Laurel Florist made four different bouquets and provided fresh flowers for the tables. If I had to plan an actual wedding right now, I would be stuck on the bouquet alone with so many gorgeous choices! Mirror Mirror Salon and Boutique was on hand all day to create three different hairstyles and do make-up touch-ups.  They made an already stunning bride camera ready, and I was impressed with how fast they put in and then took out the very elaborate braid for the Gatsby look.  The hotel itself is a fabulous backdrop for wedding photos. The spa suites provided to brides are spacious and have great windows for light. The furnishings are all attractive enough to star in some of the pictures themselves. The lobby, the hallways, and even the coffee shop have lots of great backdrops for a bride and groom. There are two outdoor ceremony sites among the oaks, and there is an inside option as well, which is great for winter wedding options.
