As a child photographer, I love that I get to watch kids grow up.  We moved to Sonora just three months before my first son was born. One of the first people I met at a mom’s group was the mother of this beautiful girl. Her son was just a couple of months older than Colby, and they often played together. Our families grew over the next few years. I remember first visiting this sweet girl when she was just a couple of days old, wrapped snugly in bed beside her mother. She was a true gift, and she helped heal her family’s broken hearts after they lost her older sister at four months of age. She is now sandwiched between two boys, but she has a quiet, gentle spirit and seems much older than her years. She also bakes amazing bread from scratch! We set out with her violin and some vintage family treasures and just got to be girls for a bit…something I rarely get to do! Those sweet little half smiles are all her alone; I never told her to do that. It is that sweet spirit shining through!  She has big things ahead of her, and I know she will accomplish them easily with that little smile on her face.
