Sonora, CA Family Photographer | Pinecrest Vacation | Christine Dibble Photography
This family came up to Pinecrest for a little cabin vacation and cousin bonding time after Christmas. One of the couples runs their own photography business (which you can find here ), but they decided to hire a family photographer to capture some family shots without the hassle of dealing with a self-timer. They were really hoping for some snow photos. We had had that great snowstorm and then deep freeze in early December, and usually there is plenty of snow that far up the hill at that time of year. (It is, after all, right there at Dodge Ridge ski area!) But as we know now, this was the start of the worst drought winter in over 100 years. So there was not an abundance of snow, but there was enough to look festive and to throw snowballs. I loved all the bright colors everyone wore. They popped so well against the white that was there. I took along one of my boys to help make the kids smile and laugh, if necessary. He wore his new ghille suit and followed along behind us, running from tree to tree. The kids noticed him pretty quickly, and that actually worked very well to keep their attention! I may have to hire him full time!
