Sonora, CA Sparks Ranch Wedding Photographer | Ginny and Shawn | Christine Dibble Photography
After a rainy and cold end to September, early October was just beautiful for Ginny and Shawn’s wedding at Sparks Ranch in Sonora off of Tuolumne Road. (You can view their engagement session here.) One of the perks of Sparks Ranch is that weddings are timed for the perfect time of day for the most beautiful light possible. That makes a huge difference in how wedding photos will look! The golden sunlight streaming through the oaks that shaded the guests was divine during the ceremony and for portraits afterwards. The reception took place around the pool in the back, and candles, uplighting in the rocks, and a couple of softboxes lit up the party for photos after dark. Ginny’s mother planned and made all the darling details that decorated the reception area. There was lots of color popping in the flowers, (provided by The Little Flower Shop of Tracy, CA,) table linens, and framed art pieces hanging from the trees. Guests were directed to find their “Peas and Carrots,” a reference to Forest Gump love for his Jenny, and each place card was an actual can of peas or carrots. Dinner was catered by The Home Place, and I have never seen more variety in a wedding dinner. It was delicious! There was not just a beautiful cake (from Safeway), there was also a dessert bar filled with cheesecakes, brownies, chocolate cakes, Cover’s pies, See’s Candy, and various other treats. The guests worked off the sugar rush by dancing all night on the dance floor under the stars. At the end, everyone took home a jar of Cover’s jam. Even if they had not had all the beautiful details, this wedding would have been amazing simply because of the way that Shawn looks at Ginny. Every man should look at the woman he loves like that! Since he still looks at her like that after eight years together, I know they have a lifetime of happiness ahead! Congratulations! (And I have to point out that my amazing assistant, Gretchen, took the last photo below!)
Ruby - Looks like an amazing wedding. Truly beautiful photos that capture the joy of the day.
