Last week I traveled to Reno for a newborn posing workshop with Meshelle Photography. Michelle Glasser runs her studio out of Washington state, but she travels to teach workshops. I was looking forward to this one for months. And then I got the date wrong. Yes…I paid money and planned several things around this workshop, and I had the date wrong. I was leaving Sunday morning to drive to Reno for what I thought was a Monday workshop, and I found out I was wrong as I was about to leave. Michelle could have written me off as a total idiot, but she and Huong of Huong Forrest Photography who hosted the workshop moved heaven and earth, and three newborns and their mothers, studio space, and Huong’s family all so I could attend the workshop on Monday.

But there is even more to this story…Adin had been sick the Thursday before. I was washing my hands raw to avoid getting it. Tom, Colby, and Brennen returned from a week at Boy Scout Camp late Saturday, and Sunday morning started with Brennen throwing up. Later that day, Colby was down. The next morning I found out Tom had it too. I was so aure I was driving to Reno just to be sick on Monday morning and miss the workshop anyway. But I lucked out.

Michelle is an expert at the tiny details of newborn posing, and she can really get those babies to do things they do not want to do. I learned a lot, and I would highly recommend her workshops to anyone who gets a chance to take one. Michelle makes it look easy!
