The cousins came to visit, so we let the boys skip school to play. They shot bows and arrows, bb guns, dug holes, and got dirty. In the afternoon we wandered around Columbia–even Tom hobbled with us. They fed the chickens. I made them stand for a picture or two. Brennen had to show them where he cut his leg last week. Uncle Tom handed each boy a dollar and told them to go to the Candy Kitchen to spend it, but when they got there, the doors were shuttered. So we hit the Candy Vault on our way back through town. While we were standing outside after buying candy, the clerk came out and asked if they could have some rainbow sherbet–for free. They needed to defrost their freezer, and it was going to go to waste. So the boys lucked out!
