Tonight Colby and I went to Columbia to see the Posada. We had never been to this event before, and I can see we have been missing out! Despite the rain, there was a gathering of spectators. We were all given candles to hold, and luminaries lined the street. The nativity procession passed along the street in front of us, and there were singers and narrators. We all followed the group of actors to the stable to see the living nativity. Afterwards we went into the bookstore to visit with Colby’s teacher over hot cider and cookies. And we couldn’t resist buying a giant handmade candy cane from the candy kitchen. Next year we will take the whole family.
