There was a bit of a challenge when we were trying to schedule this gender reveal session…the weather just didn’t want to cooperate! The timing just happened to coincide with the atmospheric rivers that were passing over us. Since we had colored smoke bombs involved, we knew pouring rain would not help the effect. So we opted to head up the hill to Long Barn and deal with snow instead. That actually turned out to be the best thing we could have done! We timed it out between dumping storms, and after finally finding a wide enough space on the side of the road to both park and shoot, we plowed through waist-deep snow and lit off the smoke bombs. And that blue smoke was perfectly clear against the background of white snow! We grabbed a couple of quick shots and then jumped back in the cars just as the sky opened up again. Now I think I am always going to want snow for smoke bomb gender reveals!
