I photographed this gorgeous mama last summer when she flew home to visit family in Murphys for a baby shower (That maternity session can be seen here.) So I was thrilled when I was asked to photograph her Santa Cruz sunset beach wedding in the fall. Of course that day dawned with pouring rain. I mean pouring. The reports said it was due to clear up in time, and for once, the reports were right on. By the time the bride was getting ready, the sun was peeking out behind beautiful accent clouds. Every last detail was gorgeous…the floral head wreath, the dress and veil, the bouquet, the colors, and the people! Things ran a little late, so it was pretty dark at Moran Lake Beach by the time we started photos of the bride and groom and families after the ceremony. We may not have gotten a true sunset look in the portraits, but I was prepared with the proper equipment to still get those important images! Then it was off to the reception at Seascape Golf Club to dance, eat and cut the cake. I was lucky enough to photograph this whole family a few days later back in Murphys before they flew home, so keep an eye out for the next blog post!
