Yosemite Photographer | Family at the Wawona Hotel | Christine Dibble Photography

A few weeks before flying out to California for a vacation, I was contacted by this family about a photo session in Yosemite while they were visiting. I would jump at any chance to visit Yosemite, especially for a photo session in the spring! As a bonus, my parents agreed to come, and they were able to book a room at the Lodge in the Valley for the night. We ate lunch at the Awahnee, and then spent the afternoon wandering around Wawona and the Wawona Hotel until the evening session started. Since the Valley is so crowded when the weather is nice, I knew it would be difficult to coordinate a great location down there with a family who had never been to the park before. So Wawona seemed to be a great choice. And we were rewarded with a field of Lupine and a collection of sun washed California Poppies for a backdrop. I knew from the moment I saw adorable Miss L that she would perform for the camera. Instead of clinging to Mom or Dad, she stood proudly and stared me down. So when she was set alone among the flowers, she was perfectly content to hang out and let me get some great photos. Such a cute little ham! After the session, we ate dinner at the Wawona Hotel. The next morning was breakfast at the Awahnee, and then we headed home. That trip may have spoiled me for future visits!
