Andrea and Jon had the most emotional wedding I have ever been to. Everyone cried…at everything. I have nothing at all against tears. In fact, I like it when people–male or female–feel strong enough to show their feelings. But this one was hard on me because it is hard to take pictures when the viewfinder is wet and blurry, and it is hard to edit through tears as I relive all the emotions captured that day. They had good reason to be happy, aside from the obvious reason of the wedding. Andrea’s dad had just had major cancer surgery. We were shooting around the hospital bed still in his room where the bride got dressed. But the good news is that he is cancer free, and he was here to walk Andrea down the aisle and dance with her at the reception. The event took place in Andrea’s parents’ backyard, and it was just perfect. The weather was amazing, and guests relaxed on the deck, danced on the dance floor below, and warmed by the fire with a S’More bar after sunset. When we first met to discuss the wedding, I remember Andrea exclaiming that she would “finally get to be a Wentworth!” It was an honor to capture that day…even if it made me cry too!
