Elizabeth and Jessie were married at the historic Holbrooke Hotel in downtown Grass Valley on a hot August day. Despite the heat, Elizabeth beamed the whole time. And her dress…well, Pippa Middleton has competition on this side of the pond! Elizabeth and Jessie chose to have a first look before the ceremony, a quiet time for just the two of them to see each other and have some time to themselves before the rush of the ceremony and the party afterwards. It was very emotional for them, and I am glad they took the opportunity because I think it really was the only time they had to really savor the meaning of the day alone. They both cried. I may or may not have had to wipe some tears from the back of my camera so I could see. Those brief moments with them alone really showed that they are very much in love with each other. After that, the ceremony and the party flew by in a rush. The Holbrooke catered the delicious dinner, and the gorgeous cake was made by Elizabeth’s new brother-in-law.
