The day was mostly cloudy and overcast, but just a few raindrops fell for good luck for Nikki and Chad’s wedding.  The bride and bridesmaids got ready at the beautiful home of the bride’s parents.  I think I swooned when I saw the gorgeous dogwood tree and the lilacs in the yard!  Layla Doster came all the way from the Bay Area to do Nikki’s hair, and she did an amazing job.  Nikki was calm and relaxed, and she was ready before any of the other girls were.  The flowers were provided by Safeway of all places!  Yes, a grocery store made beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres!  The ceremony and reception took place at the Saddle Creek Resort in Copperopolis.  Nikki and Chad opted to do a First Look, so they had a few quiet moments before the ceremony to be with each other before the rush.  That also meant we were able to knock out most of the bride and groom portraits at that time too.   Nikki’s dad walked her down the aisle and then stepped right to the task of officiating the ceremony.  After a few more photos on the golf course, it was time to eat, cut cake and dance.  Saddle Creek provided a wonderful meal, and CornerSpace Cakes made an adorable cake for Nikki and Chad and cupcakes in various flavors for the guests.   Nikki’s sister and brother-in-law sang an awesome acoustic version of Wagon Wheel as they played guitar and banjo.  Even the toddlers cut loose on the dance floor.  So, Nikki and Chad, I hope your marriage is as sweet and relaxed as your wedding was!
